Apparently, during the Civil War male nudity was no big deal. [according to Pvt. John Walter's diary: •They would get nekkid to cross rivers, to keep clothes dry. •when they did so in Hagerstown MD, the town turned out, and had a band , waiting at the river!
It would be interesting to know what is happening in photo 2. Where is this? Why so many guys? What are the guys on horseback doing? This is a great photo. You have posted it a couple of times, Bob.
